- Sound Card Requirement
- AT&T Natural Voices only requires a sound card to send generated TTS
audio output to the speakers. However, there could be problems with
trying to use NV with SAPI especially if one of the AT&T voices were
selected as the default Windows voice in the speech control panel.
SAPI may not even be available on computers which do not have sound
cards. Bottom line is that as far AT&T Natural Voices is concerned an
audio card is not required to create wav files from a program using
the C++ or command line interfaces.
Internet Connection is required ONLY for the SDK which includes a trial version of the runtime engine (expires after 180 days). If usage licensing is purchased at the same time as the SDK , then a permanent runtime engine is provided and the internet connection is unnecessary.
